Think of the Divemaster Internship as a PADI Divemaster Course on steroids. The goal of the internship is cover so much more than just the material required by PADI to achieve the basic qualification. It is an apprenticeship including all the additional training you require in the real world to either work in the diving industry or prepare yourself for instructor level training.
The Kiwidiver Internship is a combination of hands on training and diving utilizing specialty courses with skills you will be using throughout your life as a dive professional and real life hands on experience working in a busy dive center with students and customers.
This will be a life changing experience taking you from as little as 25 dives all the way through to the 100 dives needed to start your Instructor level training. It includes at least 5 different specialty courses and additional experience in each of the disciplines. You will also be introduced to all aspects of diving including Technical Diving and Rebreather Diving.
We also introduce you to additional training on equipment servicing, gas blending and retail sales.
The Internship includes special discounts on PADI Materials, diving equipment and liveaboard trips while you are training with Kiwidiver.

With a Kiwidiver Internship you will work with several different highly qualified professional scuba instructors shadowing them in all aspects of their job learning the way each works differently giving you the most rounded experience.
After you have completed the primary part of your training you have the opportunity to continue with the work experience portion either in the Kiwidiver DC in Phuket or at our partner DC on Koh Lipe in Southern Thailand.
You will learn all aspects of dive center operations from greeting customers and processing paperwork to leading dives as a guide and introducing people to their first breaths underwater. You will shadow experienced instructors as they teach and learn all aspects of the job they do while gaining experience practising what you have learnt under the watchful eye of an experienced Instructor.
By the time you have completed your internship you will be ready to either work full time in the scuba industry as a professional divemaster (where divemaster positions are available) or you will be ready to enter your IDC and become a PADI Instructor or Master Scuba Diver Trainer. You will probably have had so much fun you will want to go directly onto our Instructor Internship.
We do not use our Divemaster interns as free labor like many dive centers do, where you work in the dive shop and do the minimum number of dives. The purpose of your internship is to learn as much as possible about the job of a diving professional with hands on experience working alongside dive professionals. As each internship is custom designed for each apprentice there are some differences in the exact package. Book your interview with Kiwidiver's Course Director Kevin Black today and allow us to customize a package for you.
